CARSON Wes Martin Jersey , Calif. (AP) — Although the Los Angeles Chargers’ offense is constantly running over its opponents these days, Philip Rivers wasn’t sure how he ended up as a lead blocker for receiver Travis Benjamin on a 22-yard reverse run .“Gracious, I’ve never been this far down the field in my life since high school,” Rivers thought to himself as he looked for somebody to hit — and his coaches cringed. But just about everything the Chargers do is working out well lately. After a 30-13 rout of the Redskins on Sunday for their fourth straight victory, they’re finding themselves in prime position to compete for a playoff spot. After their 0-4 start, that’s something that seemed even more unlikely than Rivers becoming a blocker.Rivers passed for 319 yards and two touchdowns, and the Chargers continued their ferocious playoff push with their seventh win in nine games.Tyrell Williams caught a 75-yard touchdown pass and Hunter Henry had another scoring grab for the Chargers (7-6), who have been largely outstanding ever since that rocky start to their relocation season. This one wasn’t in much doubt for the Chargers as they took a 24-point lead and racked up 429 yards of offense midway through the third quarter.“It’s exactly where we want to be,” said Williams, who had four catches for 132 yards. “We hold our own destiny.”While outscoring their opponents 131-53 during their winning streak, the Chargers also moved above .500 for the first time since September 2015 with a dominant offensive performance against Washington. With their fourth straight home victory, the Chargers stayed atop the AFC West alongside the Chiefs (7-6), their opponents Saturday in Kansas City.“I want players to always know what they’re playing for, and right now, we’re playing for our division Womens Bryce Love Jersey ,” Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said.Kirk Cousins hit Vernon Davis with an early TD pass for the Redskins (5-8), who have lost two straight and six of eight. Washington was officially eliminated from playoff contention with three games to go, and this effort rankled several veterans.“There’s no excuse why we’re playing like this, because we’ve played good in the past,” Washington safety D.J. Swearinger said. “You’ve got to prepare for when you step out on the field Sunday, or you’re going to get embarrassed. We got embarrassed today, so guys didn’t prepare. Guys didn’t take it in. … We’ve definitely taken steps back (on defense). We had 30 put on us today. Dallas put (38) on us last week. We’ve taken major steps back.”Although Bashaud Breeland returned an interception of Kellen Clemens’ pass 96 yards for a touchdown with 2:36 to play, Washington’s defense had few answers.“I’m at a loss for words, quite honestly,” Redskins coach Jay Gruden said. “I never thought we’d get beat like this two weeks in a row.”Melvin Gordon rushed for a third-quarter score before several Los Angeles regulars took most of the fourth quarter off, banking rest for Saturday. They earned it: Rivers’ offense played with confidence and flair, executing reverses and flea-flickers while thoroughly entertaining a crowd with distinctly fewer fans of the opposition than in the Chargers’ first few games at StubHub Center.Los Angeles jumped to a 13-0 lead while scoring on its first three drives and getting a first-quarter interception by Kyle Emanuel, but Washington kept it close by forcing two field goals. But on the Chargers’ first snap after Davis’ TD catch, Rivers hit Williams deep downfield for an untouched, 75-yard score.MISSED CHANCELos Angeles had a 23-6 lead when it drove 81 yards in the final 1:25 before halftime. because Austin Ekeler was tackled on a 33-yard run at the Washington 4 as time ran out. Lynn blamed Ekeler for risking a run to end zone despite knowing he needed to get down.KEENAN AGAINKeenan Allen had six catches for 111 yards in his quietest performance during the Bolts’ four-game winning streak. He still set single-season career highs for receptions and yards during the first half for Los Angeles.BIG PHILRivers passed for 256 yards in the first half. He also moved ahead of Warren Moon for ninth place in NFL history in career yards passing. During the four-game winning streak https://www.theredskinslockerroom.com/authe...mclaurin-jersey , Rivers has passed for 1,348 yards with eight touchdowns and no interceptions.INJURIESRedskins: Kick returner Byron Marshall’s leg buckled underneath him while he moved to field a kickoff in the first quarter. He injured his hamstring and didn’t return. … Key LB Zach Brown sprained his toe in the second half and left in a walking boot. He blamed the StubHub Center turf: “That field is crap. It’s made for soccer.” … LB Chris Carter broke his leg in the second half.Chargers: Left tackle Russell Okung went down heavily in the first quarter and limped off the field with a knee injury. He returned later in the first half, however.UP NEXTRedskins: Host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.Chargers: Travel to Kansas City on short rest for a first-place showdown with the Chiefs on Saturday. As awkward brotherly relationships go, it could be hard to match Aaron and Jordan Rodgers. But there definitely may be some current tension between Jay and Jon Gruden. The Washington coach saw his lead in the NFC East evaporate on Thursday, thanks to the major impact made by the receiver on whom the Raiders coach recently gave up. Indeed, Washington led the game at Dallas, 13-10, before Cooper’s pair of touchdowns (40 yards and 90 yards) broke the game open. And so now Washington, at 6-5, needs to start thinking about its path to the postseason as a wild card. If they make it, a game at Chicago could be required. Which would entail facing linebacker Khalil Mack. Or Washington may have to return to Texas, to face Cooper again. Either way, it could result in more pleasantries (or otherwise) being exchanged by the Brothers Gruden over the other trade that sent an impact player into the NFC.

Myles Garrett will surely spend the rest of his career — maybe even the rest of his life — trying to live this one down. The lengthy suspension might be the least of his worries. The Cleveland Browns’ star defensive end can expect to pay a huge price for his helmet-swinging assault — there’s no other way to describe it — on Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph in the closing seconds of a Thursday night game that turned into an episode of WWE Smackdown. The NFL quickly suspended Garrett for at least the final six games of the regular season as well as the postseason (the latter not really a concern since he plays for the Browns).“Good players make mistakes Womens T. J. Watt Jersey ,” said former Carolina receiver Steve Smith, now an analyst for the NFL Network. “However, what we saw from Myles Garrett, let’s be honest, it was stupid, and it was unacceptable, and it was a horrible act. You know what he has done? He has lost the privilege to play football for the remainder of the year.”But the baggage that comes from a such a heinous, high-profile meltdown will not be shed when he returns to the gridiron, even eight months from now if he’s allowed to report for training camp.Remember Kermit Washington? He never lived down the brutal punch that almost killed Rudy Tomjanovich in an NBA game. How about Marty McSorley? He’ll forever be remembered for whacking Donald Brashear in the head with a hockey stick, leaving him with a severe concussion. All the good that Garrett has done during his first three years in the NFL — a No. 1 overall draft pick who has 30.5 career sacks and writes heart-tugging poetry in his spare time — will now take a backseat to what happened when he lost his cool for a split-second.While there were undoubtedly some extenuating circumstances, Garrett’s reaction as the scuffle escalated was indefensible. After ripping off Rudolph’s helmet, he swung it as hard as he could and caught the quarterback on top of the head.Fortunately, unlike Tomjanovich and Brashear, Rudolph was not seriously injured. That’s not likely to lessen the damage to Garrett’s reputation.“It’s inexcusable,” said one of Garrett’s own teammates, quarterback Baker Mayfield. “I don’t care. Rivalry or not JuJu Smith-Schuster Jersey White , we can’t do that.”The NFL, which has its own image problems to deal with, was left with no choice other than making an example out of Garrett for this embarrassing episode.Until now, the longest suspension for a single on-field incident was a five-game ban that went to former Tennessee Titans lineman Albert Haynesworth in 2006 after he yanked the helmet off Dallas center Andre Gurode and kicked him in the face, leaving a gash that required stitches.Earlier this season, Raiders linebacker Vontaze Burfict was suspended indefinitely for his brutal play, but that was for an accumulation of incidents that culminated with a helmet-to-helmet hit.Speaking to reporters after the game, Garrett at least had the good sense to acknowledge what will likely go down as the biggest mistake of his career.“I lost my cool and I regret it,” he said. “It’s going to come back to hurt our team. The guys who jumped into the scrum, I appreciate my team having my back, but it should have never gotten to that point. That’s on me.”It was all so unnecessary. The Browns (4-6) were wrapping up one of their most satisfying wins of a disappointing season, having throttled their most bitter rival 21-7. There were just 8 seconds remaining when Rudolph, after delivering a meaningless pass, took umbrage with the way he was taken to the turf by Garrett. When Rudolph grabbed at Garrett’s helmet, the Cleveland player responded by ripping off Rudolph’s headgear. Then, with a Steelers lineman pushing him away while an incensed https://www.thesteelerslockerroom.com/authe...schuster-jersey , helmetless Rudolph charged at him, Garrett swung the black Pittsburgh helmet and nailed Rudolph.“Beyond words,” Fox analyst Troy Aikman said as he watched the replay of Rudolph’s helmet bouncing off his own head.“Absolutely, that’s embarrassing,” Garrett acknowledged. “What I did was foolish and I shouldn’t have allowed myself to slip like that. That’s out of character, but a situation like that where it’s an emotional game ... I allowed myself to fall into those emotions with that last play and what happened.’’Strangely, plenty of people came to Garrett’s defense. “But Rudolph” was trending on Twitter and several former players, including Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, seemed to justify Garrett’s actions.“Mason Rudolph should be significantly fined as well for trying to rip (Garrett’s) helmet off his head which ignited the retaliation,” Sanders wrote on Twitter. “He's not without fault in the unfortunate matter. This is a physical, emotional game played by men. Let's not forget that.”Rudolph, of course, saw things differently.“I thought it was pretty cowardly, pretty bush league,” said the guy who took over as the Steelers quarterback when Ben Roethlisberger went down with a season-ending injury.Fortunately, Rudolph appeared to take somewhat of a glancing blow. He declared himself “fine” after the game and showed no ill effects from the attack. That doesn’t mitigate Garrett’s actions. Not in the least.“What if he had hit Mason Rudolph right at the right spot and now that young man is paralyzed on the field?” Smith said. “You can’t do that.”Garrett will have to carry around that shame for at least the rest of his career.Maybe longer.A suspension is the least of his concerns.Paul Newberry is a sports columnist for The Associated Press. Watt Jersey , or at least enough of them for the Pittsburgh Steelers to cut veteran backup quarterback Landry Jones at the end of the preseason and promote Dobbs to the spot behind Ben Roethlisberger.Nine months later, none of it matters.Whatever gap Dobbs created over then-rookie Mason Rudolph in 2018 is gone. It’s not an indictment of the ever-meticulous Dobbs so much as a return to the way the Steelers prefer to do business. When Dobbs and Rudolph report to training camp at Saint Vincent College next month with 88 of their teammates, they’ll once again be in a fight for the opportunity to be the first option off the bench.“They understand it is competition and it’s open,” offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner said Wednesday. “But to me, that position is always going to be open no matter who is here. That battle is every single day trying to put us in the best position when if Ben is not in the game, that we have put the right guy in to give us a chance to win the game.”Even if those chances will be focused entirely on the short term.Roethlisberger signed a new contract in April that runs through 2021. Great news for the Steelers, not so much for the two players taken a year apart in the draft — Dobbs in the fourth round in 2017, Rudolph in the third round in 2018 — who saw any real shot at becoming an NFL starter blocked indefinitely, at least as long as they play in Pittsburgh. Dobbs’ deal expires after 2020 and Roethlisberger’s extension coincides with the entirety of Rudolph’s rookie pact. Not that Rudolph is particularly interested in trying to big picture things.“I’m not talking about contracts,” Rudolph said with a respectful shrug. “That’s what it is. Football, you’re either one play away, two plays away sometimes so you’ve got to be ready to go and you’ve got to prepare like you are the starter.”Something Rudolph looks a bit more like this spring than last. The tentativeness that nagged at him as he tried to absorb Fichtner’s playbook has vanished. far more confident with the ball in his hands and the uncertainty in his voice while barking out signals is gone. Even the guy Rudolph tongue-in-cheek referred to as “Mr. Roethlisberger” has noticed.“They are more comfortable, especially Mason,” Roethlisberger said. “The first year your head is kind of spinning a little bit. You see him settling into it a lot. And he’s not afraid to step to whatever group, whatever receiver. In the past, he might have felt hesitancy to throw to certain guys.”Maybe because Rudolph understands snaps are precious. There weren’t many to go around for him once the regular season started last fall save for the occasional work on Wednesdays while Roethlisberger watched from the sideline as part of a scheduled day off. Rudolph knew it was coming. That didn’t make the adjustment any easier. His goal is to not let it happen again. If there was a silver lining — at least for Rudolph — in the team’s failure to reach the playoffs Jerome Bettis Jersey White , it was the opportunity to do a deep dive into Fichtner’s system.“I can get kind of into a little bit of a nerd mentality at times in the offseason,” Rudolph said. “It’s fun. It was fun studying. Back here ready to go and put it on display.”Rudolph isn’t the only one in the quarterback room that’s a self-professed nerd. Until he unseated Jones last summer, Dobbs was a bit of a curiosity, as well known for his degree in aerospace engineering as his ability to throw a football. He excelled during an extended audition in the preseason — passing for 434 yards and four touchdowns — and suddenly found himself as the primary backup.Dobbs threw meaningful passes in two games, completing a 22-yarder with the team deep it its own end against Baltimore in early November then went 4 for 9 for 24 yards and an interception on the road in Oakland after Roethlisberger exited with a rib injury. While Dobbs feels he did enough to remain second on the depth chart, he’s not exactly pouting. He’s watched Rudolph’s progress over the past 12 months. Dobbs knows if he doesn’t continue to improve, he’ll find himself falling behind or maybe even looking for work come early September. That’s why getting worked up over the potential ripple effects of Roethlisberger’s contract is useless. There’s so much to focus on right now, wondering what his career might look like in two years is pointless.“I want to compete, I want to be the best, I want to find a way to make it better,” Dobbs said. “Whatever it is, I’m trying to build the next fighter jet or I’m trying to be the starting quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers or if it’s dodgeball. I want to be the best dodgeball player out there and if I’m not, I want to figure out how can I get there.”

It’s time for Antonio Brown Helmet Grievance 2.0.Per a source with knowledge of the situation Bo Jackson Jersey , the Raiders receiver has filed a new grievance regarding the league’s decision to prevent him from wearing a Schutt AiR Advantage helmet that is less than 10 years old.Last Monday, a neutral, independent arbitrator found that Brown could not wear a helmet that is more than 10 years old; NOCSAE won’t recertifiy any helmet, regardless of model, that is more than 10 years old. Since then, Brown’s representatives identified an obvious loophole. Because the Schutt AiR Advantage hasn’t been banned generally by the NFL, he should be permitted to wear one that is less than 10 years old, and that can be recertified by NOCSAE. the list of 11 helmet models banned in 2018. The NFL also gave players wearing banned helmets a one-year grace period, allowing them to continue to wear the banned helmet while transitioning to a new model.Brown hasn’t received that courtesy, because the NFL didn’t ban the Schutt AiR Advantage until he found multiple models that were less than 10 years old, and thus that could be recertified by NOCSAE. He’ll argue that https://www.raiderslockerroom.com/authentic...io-brown-jersey , at a minimum, he should receive the same one-year grace period that was given to players like Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who ultimately won the Super Bowl while wearing a helmet that the NFL has deemed to be unsafe for use. Antonio Brown is great at catching passes. His subtweet game is pretty strong as well.Earlier today, Brown put up a message on Twitter which wasn’t very hard to decipher.
Do not listen to any NFL player who haven鈥檛 got paid yet! They will do and say anything to make sure they going to get paid even if it鈥檚 compromising integrity or anything ! sad but true— Antonio Brown (@AB84) March 26, 2019
While he didn’t mention anybody by name, it’s fairly obvious (though technically plausibly deniable) that this is in reference to former Steelers teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster‘s earlier praise of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.鈥淚 was so blessed to enter the league and play with a Hall of Fame QB as a 20-year old,” Smith-Schuster wrote. “Ben has taught me so much, he鈥檚 a true Leader and I can鈥檛 wait to rock with my guy this season.”Of course, Smith-Schuster is a year away from being able to get his next contract, and the Steelers are carrying that big dead-money hit ($21 million) for trading Brown anyway. But it doesn’t hurt to keep everyone happy in anticipation. You just have to be prepared to be called out for it by former teammates.

Broncos tight end Jake Butt is no stranger to coming back from a torn ACL.He did it in high school Joe Flacco Jersey , he did it after his final game at the University of Michigan and he’s been doing it since going down in a game last September. Butt suffered the injury in Week Three last year and was off the field during Denver’s offseason program as he worked his way toward being cleared to resume football activities.Butt expects to get that clearance for the start of training camp next month and is “sure there’ll be some plan in place so I’m not taking a million reps.” While his workload will be managed, Butt spent the last few months learning the offense and doesn’t expect to be wearing training wheels for long.“I know my job on every single play,” Butt said, via the . “here’s no excuse.”Butt missed his entire rookie season and most of last year, so he can’t take long to get up to speed and expect to have a role in the offense. The Broncos drafted Noah Fant in the first round and also have Jeff Heuerman and 2018 fifth-round pick Troy Fumagalli on hand at tight end this year, so Butt will have to show that he hasn’t lost too many steps this summer. The Broncos went into last season with Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders as their starting receivers. They traded Thomas during the season, and Sanders tore his Achilles’ late last season and continues to rehab. That left rookie Courtland Sutton to assume the No. 1 receiver role in the final four games of last season. He averaged 6.3 targets Bradley Chubb Jersey White , 3.5 catches and 36.5 yards per game. “The No. 1 role, you can’t go into a game and have one or two catches,” Sutton said Tuesday, via Mike Klis of Denver’s 9News. “You have to go into a game and be that guy. I accept that role.”Sutton, 23, finished his rookie season with 42 receptions for 704 yards and four touchdowns. The Broncos expect more from him this season.“It’s a little different,” Sutton said of expectations for his second season Womens Dre'Mont Jones Jersey , via video from Kyle Fredrickson of . “Coming in as a rookie, you’re just trying to feel it out. You don’t know what to expect. There’s nothing you can really dive through to say this is how I’m supposed to come into it. But having a year under my belt, I know what to expect from myself and what my teammates expect from me. I’m excited going into this season, knowing I’m going to get to be the No. 1. I’m going to get all that look and all that pressure. I’m excited about that. I want my teammates to look at me as that leader and that guy who is going to assume that role and take it and go with it.”

The Redskins’ running game, which has been solid behind a resurgent Adrian Peterson, may suffer mightily without Scherff, Shawn Lauvao, and Trent Williams. For a team that has a mediocre passing attack, losing a lot of potency on the ground is obviously a major problem. The Bucs have a terrible defense, which will hopefully help Alex Smith and company find much better rhythm, but those defensive deficiencies don’t come close to assuring a Washington win.Let me put this another way to illustrate the problem the Redskins face on Sunday. The Buccaneers have scored at least 26 points in all but one of their games this year. The Redskins have failed to score more than 24 points in all but one of their games this year. The talented safety duo of D.J. Swearinger and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix will be crucial this week in limiting the Bucs’ deep passing attack. However, even if the defense holds Tampa Bay to an uncharacteristically low offensive output, the shorthanded Redskins’ offense will very likely need to do something it has failed to do 87.5% of the time this year in order for the Skins to win.I’m hoping for the best, and it’s not crazy at all to think the Redskins might come out on top, but the burden of proof is on Washington to show that it can overcome the latest rash of all-too-familiar hard-luck injuries.

I’m 47 https://www.thesteelerslockerroom.com/authe...schuster-jersey , my birthday is on May 12, and not once have the Steelers played a game on that day—not even when it falls on a Sunday. What are the odds?"I know what you’re going to say, “Oh, here he goes with another one of his self-aggrandizing articles,” (the very mean social media taught me that word). You’re correct, it is, and that’s because I have every right. You see, my birthday was on Sunday. Maybe you didn’t know that because Mother’s Day, as it does every six years or so, stole the spotlight from me. Hey, I usually don’t mind Mother’s Day falling on my birthday—if it wasn’t for me, my mother wouldn’t have that holiday to celebrate. But what did bother me about my most-recent birthday was that, yet again, it fell on a Sunday, and it didn’t include a Steelers regular season game to enjoy. When you consider how many times the NFL has made the Steelers play games on specific holidays such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day T. J. Watt Jersey , New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, just once you’d think they would be scheduled to play a game on Mother’s Day, which, if it fell just right, would be my actual birthday—May 12. Other famous celebrities who share that birthday include Tony Hawk, Steve Winwood and the guy from those American Pie movies. But as far as I can tell, none of those people are from Pittsburgh. None of those people are Steelers fans—Not even Kim Fields.I am. I’ve been a die hard fan for, well, 47 years now. I remember the first time my birthday fell on a Sunday. It was 1974. The Steelers were not even two years removed from the Immaculate Reception—the play that won them their first ever postseason game vs. the Raiders at old Three Rivers Stadium and put their franchise on a fast-track to becoming the best dynasty there ever was (I was there, and there was no way the ball hit the ground). Would I, just months prior to Pittsburgh’s first Super Bowl victory, get to witness a sneak preview from my crib? Nope. What about a year later? Not only were the Steelers the reigning champions, May 12, my 3rd birthday, was on a Monday. You know what that could have meant? Monday Night Football, back when it was must see TV. Back when Howard Cosell was the king of sports controversy. Just think of the ratings. The NFL didn’t, I guess. I can go on and on about this. My 30th birthday was a Sunday—no Steelers game. My 41st birthday was a Sunday—lots of “likes” for Mom on Facebook, but no Steelers game to numb the pain I was feeling for having to play second fiddle. You know how sometimes you get to describe your birthday present like this: “Yeah Jerome Bettis Jersey White , I got two Steelers tickets, and the game was that day, so we hopped in my dad’s car and drove down to Heinz Field.”? Just once I’d like to have that experience, but I can’t. Why? Does Roger Goodell not see the potential in scheduling a Mother’s Day game for the Steelers, the franchise with the best female fans in the NFL? I mean, it’s anactual fact. Finally, I’d like to hold out hope for my next birthday, but since 2020 is a Leap Year, there will be no chance the NFL schedules a game on a Tuesday. I guess I’ll be in my 50’s by the time I get to hope for this again. They say the schedule is spit out randomly by a computer. Yeah, right. Forty-seven years and no Steelers games on May 12 when that date is a Sunday—or even a Monday or Thursday night? Concrete proof that the scheduling of games is rigged. While many pour over endless mock drafts looking at specific prospects with a fine toothed comb, others prefer to just look at positional needs. For the Pittsburgh Steelers and their fan base, it has essentially been a question of which position is a top need for the black-and-gold. Inside linebacker?Cornerback?Wide Receiver?Recently SB Nation’s FanPulse asked Steelers fans what they thought James Conner Jersey White , and the response was pretty obvious. 61% of voters saw the inside linebacker position as the biggest need for the Steelers moving forward, with cornerback coming behind in second. What might have been the most shocking when looking at the results of this survey were how few fans thought wide receiver was the team’s biggest need. I get how the thought of wide receiver trumping inside linebacker, a position of need since Ryan Shazier’s traumatic injury in 2017, might sound odd, but the team is now having to replace Antonio Brown’s 15 touchdown receptions he hauled in 2018.Everyone has their guess as to who, or what position, the Steelers will target in the first round of the draft, but their free agent acquisitions of Donte Moncrief, Mark Barron and Steven Nelson have given them a tremendous amount of flexibility on their roster. In other words, they aren’t pigeon-holed into staring at one position or prospect, but can see what their board looks like when it is their turn to pick 20th overall. That is, if they remain at 20th and don’t trade out of that spot, but that is another story altogether. What say you? What is the Steelers’ biggest need heading into the draft tonight? Let us know by voting in the poll below, and letting us know why you voted which way in the comment section below!

Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has 18 Bo Jackson Jersey White ,739 passing yards in his five-year career, which means he’s probably only a game or two away from a significant franchise record. That’s the Raiders record for career passing yards, currently held by Hall of Famer Kenny Stabler. The franchise record of 19,078 yards is just 339 yards away for Carr, and he’s excited about having his own name mentioned alongside Stabler’s.“That gives me goosebumps. That was my dad’s favorite player growing up,” Carr told Sal Paolantonio of ESPN.NFL passing offenses are so much different now than they were during Stabler’s day that it’s hard to make much of a comparison between the numbers: In Stabler’s rookie year, 1970, NFL teams averaged 161.4 passing yards per game. By 2018, NFL teams averaged 237.8 passing yards per game. So it’s hard for any quarterback from the 1970s to have numbers that stand up to today’s stats.Carr seems to recognize that. He knows Stabler was a greater passer than his stats may suggest. It ended the second episode with a “to be continued” tease to Brown’s helmet issue.Hard Knocks wasted little time in getting to Brown on Tuesday, setting up the helmet issue only three minutes into the hour-long reality series before cutting to coach Jon Gruden talking privately about his star receiver.“We’ve known the whole time,” Gruden said. “He had frostbite. He took four or five days to get checked out, and we knew about the [helmet] grievance since the first day of OTAs, which we did. I don’t know what the story — what the f— the story is around here.“He’s tried everything, really. I give the guy credit for standing up for what he believes in. Everybody else does it in this country.”Much of the rest of the episode centered around Brown’s feet and his helmet issue. The trailer for the show, released Tuesday morning, provided most of of the best stuff from Brown.Gruden’s public support of Brown was backed by his private support of Brown on Hard Knocks.More than once he questioned why it was “such a big story.”At one point, Gruden even joked with Brown, telling him, “You can use my helmet https://www.raiderslockerroom.com/authentic...rek-carr-jersey , man.”Wearing a new helmet, Brown complained to teammates about his “new lid being ugly as f—” as he continually adjusted it.Through everything, Gruden has showed unwavering support of Brown, which Brown acknowledged late in the episode.“Thanks for supporting me, coach,” Brown said. “My f—ing head, my feet. People after me. You’ve been a constant supporter.”Gruden told Brown he was behind him, and that Brown could talk to him about any problem.“I know you’ve got a lot of people in your ear, because you’re like a corporation that’s kind of gone global,” Gruden told Brown. “At the end of the day, let’s keep this s— simple. Football comes first. Everybody else is f—ing way behind. You know what I’m saying? You’ve handled all that seamlessly, beautifully.”Brown laughed.“Seamlessly. I think that word,” he said. “That’s a great word. Seamlessly. I’ll look that up.”Gruden replies, “Three syllables. They don’t have those at Dayton [where Gruden went to school] or Central Michigan [where Brown went to school].”In something of a good-cop, bad-cop routine, General Manager Mike Mayock was shown speaking to reporters Sunday, telling them that it was time for Brown to be “all in or all out” after Brown left camp again. The episode ends with Brown returning to work Monday. Whether he stays or not is to be continued as Brown has filed another grievance.

The inside linebacker is an important piece to Vic Fangio’s defenses. In San Francisco Courtland Sutton Jersey White , he had Patrick Willis and Navarro Bowman in the middle of his defense and in Chicago he had the 8th overall pick Roquan Smith and former Bronco Danny Trevathan in the middle of that defense. Both were highly ranked units that featured the inside linebacker and I would imagine he wants to do the same in Denver. Currently, the Broncos have Brandon Marshall, Todd Davis, and Josey Jewell at that position. Marshall figures to be among the Broncos cap causalities in the coming weeks and Davis and Jewell do not have the athleticism Fangio’s linebackers have had in the past. So I would imagine Fangio would be looking to add talent and athleticism to this unit this offseason. One potential free agent who would quickly fix that is Baltimore Ravens linebacker, C.J. Mosley. Player profile: Height: 6’2”Weight: 250lbsAge: 26 years oldExperience: 5 yearsMosley played his college ball at the University of Alabama and turned into one of the nations top linebackers during that span. During his four-year career at Alabama, Mosley totaled 317 tackles, 23 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks, 5 interceptions, 3 defensive touchdowns, 17 pass deflections, and 1 forced fumble. His play at Alabama made him one of the top prospects in the 2014 NFL Draft and a prospect linked to the Broncos. However, Baltimore Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome nabbed himself another Alabama product and selected Mosley with the 17th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Since then, Mosley has become one of the better inside linebackers in the NFL. During Mosley’s five seasons in Baltimore, he has started all but three games during the span and being nothing less than a consistent force for their defense. He also totaled 597 tackles Joe Flacco Jersey , 8.5 sacks, 43 tackles for a loss, 9 interception, 6 forced fumbles, 35 pass deflections, and 32 quarterback hits. Now, Mosley is entering free agency as one of the better defensive free agents this offseason and likely near the top of the Broncos wish list. Why this makes sense:It’s simple really. Vic Fangio’s defenses are at their best when he has elite talents at inside linebacker. Currently, the Broncos have an average at best group that lacks athleticism. Mosley instantly gives them a three-down linebacker who would give them at least one high-end talent at the position. Mosley also brings consistency with him. He has only missed a total of 3 games through five NFL seasons and has started every game he has played in. He has also topped 100 tackles four out of five seasons in the NFL. The only season he had less than 100 tackles was in 2016 when he totaled 92 tackles. Mosley however, missed two games that season. This is exactly what the Broncos need in the middle of their defense. Consistency, a high-end talent, and a leader. According to Pro Football Focus, Mosley is their second best linebacker on the free agent market and their 27th best free agent available this offseason. Mosley probably won’t come cheap if he does indeed hit the free agent market, but if he does, the Broncos need to do what it takes to land the star linebacker. Why it doesn’t make sense:The only reason this doesn’t make sense if it the Ravens either Franchise Tag or re-sign Mosley before he hits the free agent market. According to Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh, Mosley wants to be back and the Ravens want him back. However Bradley Chubb Jersey White , they apparently have limitations on money which could limit them in locking up Mosley. I feel like this is something us Broncos fans need to really watch in the coming weeks. If Mosley gets taken off the market, I would imagine that would erase one of, if not the top name on their free-agent wish list. Final thoughts:If Mosley hits the free agent market, the Broncos need to get him. Simple as that. I don’t need to say anything else. However, I have serious doubts that the Ravens in their first offseason away from Ozzie Newsome running the show would let their star inside linebacker walk free. CINCINNATI (AP) — A.J. Green took a couple of steps, tried to cut and crumbled to the ground, grabbing his right foot. He was carted off the field, along with the Bengals‘ hopes of a late-season recovery. They keep unraveling a little more each week.Rookie Phillip Lindsay rushed for a career-high 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns Sunday as Denver adapted to a windy afternoon and got its third straight victory, 24-10 over the Bengals. After a 4-1 start, Cincinnati (5-7) has dropped six of seven with a historically bad defense and a series of injuries that depleted the roster. Not even a change in defensive coordinator has made much of a dent.“I just want to see us challenge ourselves to turn it around before the end of the season,” cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick said. “That’s the only thing I can say right now.” He fired defensive coordinator Teryl Austin and assumed the job of running the defense, but they’re 0-3 under that arrangement. The Broncos (6-6) rushed for 218 yards , the third time in the past four games that Cincinnati has given up 200 yards on the ground. The Bengals have allowed four teams to run for 200 yards this season, and Kansas City had 198 yards on the ground.“I’m disappointed with our football game today like that,” Lewis said. With the Bengals on course for a third straight season missing out on the playoffs Womens Bradley Chubb Jersey , fans are giving up. The crowd of 44,392 on Sunday was the smallest at Paul Brown Stadium since 2011.Fans in the upper deck tape a large banner to the front of a seating section before each game. On Sunday, they taped up a blank banner — nothing left to say about this season.Quarterback Andy Dalton tore a ligament in the thumb on his passing hand a week earlier, ending his season. Jeff Driskel made his first NFL start on Sunday and had Green back after he missed three games with an injured toe on his right foot.Green had only one catch before reinjuring the foot, most likely ending his season.“He was obviously battling just to play,” Bengals receiver Alex Erickson said. “I’m sure it’s devastating to him and to the team.”Driskel finished 25 of 38 for 236 yards with a touchdown, an interception , a fumble and four sacks.“Not good enough,” Driskel summed up.The line also was in flux and struggled to adapt.Left tackle Cordy Glenn missed a second straight game with a bad back. Guard Clint Boling started at left tackle, and Trey Hopkins started at guard. The line got three penalties for holding, two for false starts and one for an illegal block.Cincinnati was penalized eight times in the first half, its most in an opening half since 2009. The Bengals finished with 12 penalties for 100 yards.“There are no excuses,” right tackle Bobby Hart said. “No matter who’s in there or what’s going on, it’s your job to get things done.”

He underwent surgery the following day to repair his fibula and tibia. NFL Network and Washington’s 106.7 FM reported that a leg infection complicated his recovery and required further procedures. Washington head coach Jay Gruden called the depth chart that lists Colt McCoy as his team’s starting quarterback “silly” and he reportedly won’t be sticking to it when it comes to doling out playing time in Cleveland on Thursday night.Craig Hoffman of 106.7 The Fan reported that McCoy will not play in the preseason opener and others have since reported the same. If the Pittsburgh Steelers are serious about moving Antonio Brown via a trade this offseason James Conner Jersey , it would appear he already has his destination picked out if Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice is to be believed. of 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh, Rice confirmed he had spoken to the Steelers star receiver over the weekend and was more then willing to share the details of their private conversation.Asked if Brown had expressed a desire to play in San Francisco https://www.thesteelerslockerroom.com/authe...-edmunds-jersey , Rice left no doubt about where AB really wanted to play. That being said, Rice acknowledged he has no influence on the 49ers personnel decisions, even if he wishes he did.For those who might question the logic of trading for a player who could be politely described as ‘challenging to manage’ Womens Terrell Edmunds Jersey , Rice holds no such concerns. While there was a time when Steeler fans considered Brown a great asset to their team, there will be plenty who question how much he can be trusted to contribute in light of the way his season ended this year. It is starting to feel like Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown cannot get a day off from the media as of late, thanks in large part to a growing list of former team members more than willing to talk about him in the press. But given that none of theses names who have been adding their two cents over the past few weeks have spent any time in the Steelers locker room this season Womens James Conner Jersey , it should comes as no surprise to learn that AB has had enough of their opinions. In the light of the harsh criticism offered by former teammate Emmanuel Sanders over the weekend and the unflattering remarks from his former offensive coordinator on Tuesday, Brown took to Twitter on Wednesday to offer a response.A comment that would not go unnoticed by Sanders.Brown did not limit his responses to Sanders and Arians, picking out a number of random posts to answer T. J. Watt Jersey White , ones that gave him an opportunity to let everyone know he was paying close attention to all the negativity. Until Brown finally delivers on his big interview, he will remain the villain for most fans, and even then it is unlikely he will change many minds. Sadly Terrell Edmunds Jersey White , after Art Rooney II had revealed earlier in the day that no one in the organization had yet heard from their troubled receiver, it would appear that time might be running out for AB to rebuild his relationship with senior management.

The shelf life for running backs in the modern NFL is short. Get drafted https://www.raiderslockerroom.com/authentic...rek-carr-jersey , start playing and hope to get a second contract. By the time most backs reach their 30s, they're typically out of the league living in retirement.Frank Gore and Marshawn Lynch are defying those odds, still producing at the respective ages of 35 and 32. The two will share a field on Sunday when Lynch's Oakland Raiders (0-2) visit Gore and the Miami Dolphins (2-0)."That's my man. Marshawn is my man," Gore said this week. "I know him. He's a friend of mine. I love the way he plays the game of football. I'm happy that he came back because I knew that he still could play the game. I'm happy that a dude who came in back when I came in is still going. That's a plus for us."Gore has carried 18 times for 86 yards this season. He moved into fourth place on the career rushing list last week, passing Hall of Famer Curtis Martin with 14,112 yards in his career.Only Hall of Famers Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton and Barry Sanders are ahead of Gore, who has never led the NFL in rushing but has 12 straight seasons with at least 800 yards. Only Smith was more consistent in his career with 13 straight 800-yard seasons."He is one of my favorites," said Raiders coach Jon Gruden, who faced Gore twice when he coached in Tampa Bay more than a decade ago. "He has been able to adapt and prove that he can play in any offense. He's been one of the great two-back I (formation) runners that I've seen in my time as a coach. Then (QB) Alex Smith came along and they morphed into a shotgun operation. He played with (QB Colin) Kaepernick, he proved that he could play in that style of offense. Did some really good things, quietly, in Indianapolis, I think. It's really cool to see him back in Miami where it all started."Lynch, who sat out the 2016 season, has 29 carries for 106 yards the first two weeks and has scored touchdowns in each game. On Oakland's opening drive of the season, Lynch scored on a 10-yard run against the Rams. He was stood up at the 3 but still managed to bowl his way into the end zone with help from a rugby-style push from his offensive linemen."I know this, he's extremely hard to tackle still," Dolphins coach Adam Gase said. "He almost popped out a big one last week again. He's a dangerous guy to deal with. He's a big man that does not like to touch the ground. I've seen him way too much it seems like."The Raiders want to see even more out of Lynch this week as they try for their first win of the season. He went from 11 carries in the opener to 18 last week in Denver, but still has only one run longer than 10 yards.Right tackle Donald Penn said that's more of a reflection on the way the line has blocked than how Lynch has run."We need to help him out a lot more," Penn said. "We have to be more consistent. We kind of have that roller-coaster thing going again, like we have in the past. But when we're consistent he's looking really good. But he is doing a lot of good things for us. Our main thing is to just try and get him to the second level. When he gets to the second level, I would bet on him against anybody."The only other running back age 32 or older with more than five carries the first two weeks is 33-year-old Adrian Peterson, who has 37 carries for 116 yards in Washington so far. This is not new for Gore and Lynch, who were the two most productive running backs in their 30s last year, with Gore leading the old-timers with 961 yards and Lynch close behind at 891.Gore has rushed for 5,273 yards since turning 30 in 2013, a total topped only by Smith (5,789) and John Riggins (5 Derek Carr Jersey White ,683). Gore has a chance to top that list by the end of this season."I still want to have success," Gore said. "I still feel good. I still feel I can play with the young guys. Like I said, when my number gets called, I try my best to make some plays."NOTES: Raiders DT P.J. He is only credited with having 2 drops over the past two seasons, his catch rate is phenomenal. He is a great route runner and also one of the best low ball catchers you will see with his ability to get to the ground and still make the catch. He is an intelligent route runner with the ability to create space, ideal for the slot receiver position.. Game is not too big for him, clutch gene highlighted by having 17 receptions for 180 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2 title game appearances. Fan favorite for never giving up, always giving 100% effort.WeaknessesSmall and slow, not the best combination when it comes to being a professional athlete. Won’t win foot races with anybody, and will need to add some more muscle to his 183lb frame. He will have trouble breaking tackles at the NFL level because of lack of strength. Will have trouble blocking larger defenders at NFL level, though does not shy away from confrontations. His production went down in his last two years at Clemson compared to his first 2 seasons for the Tigers.VerdictDespite his smaller stature, Renfrow’s tenacity and determination will suit him well as a slot receiver in the NFL. His route running is superb and he finds ways to get open despite his obvious flaws physically. Excellent value pick in the 5th round.Fit with RaidersWill be able to compete for playing time as a rookie, especially as an immediate fill in for routes ran by Seth Roberts last year who had a similar size and skill set. His hands set him apart from other receivers in the league and the Raiders have had to deal with far too many dropped passes in Derek Carr’s tenure with the team. Adding a player that can be trusted like Hunter Renfrow is a big win for a massively upgraded receiver corp, Renfrow will be able to compete for playing time as a 3rd or 4th receiver in obvious passing situations. Also see: Hunter Renfrow top three NFL Draft sleeper receiver, dubbed ‘Red Zone Master’

Less than three years ago Womens Dre'Mont Jones Jersey , Broncos running back C.J. Anderson played a major role in a Super Bowl run. Less than a month ago, Anderson was out of a job.But Anderson persevered, and it has paid off both for him and for the Rams.Snatched from the scrap heap on December 18 after a failed workout with the Chiefs and a half-cup of lukewarm Sanka with the Raiders, Anderson has become essentially 1B to Todd Gurley‘s 1A in the L.A. backfield.“He’s a guy that’s played in big-time games,” coach Sean McVay told reporters after Anderson completed his third 100-yard rushing performance in three games with the Rams. “You know that no moment is too big for him. This is a guy that’s had a big-time role and a Super Bowl champion team. He’s just got a great feel for the game. I think he did a great job again tonight. Was really just impressed with him from the jump 鈥? the way that he was able to come in, I guess it would be about a month ago now, and how quickly he was able to pick things up. Really smart, cerebral player and does a great job putting his pads down, finishing falling forward.”He’s fallen upward with 167 yards in Week 16 against the Cardinals, 132 yards in Week 17 against the 49ers, and now 123 yards in the divisional round against the Cowboys. The difference this time? Todd Gurley was healthy and effective https://www.broncoslockerroom.com/authentic-drew-lock-jersey , but Anderson still made an impact.“He’s been running his tail off and doing everything right,” quarterback Jared Goff told reporters regarding Anderson. “I think the last two weeks without Todd, he showed what he can do. Then, this week, having both of them is special and it gives you a real dual-threat of backs, and different backs. Todd is obviously what Todd is, in my opinion the best back in the league and can do so many things. him to do and protects and does all that stuff right. It’s just been a really good combo.”It was a really great combo last night, with both Gurley and Anderson over 100 yards. So could Anderson envision this when he was unemployed a month ago? “It’s how you handle things,” Anderson told reporters. “For myself, I just always kept my head down and kept pushing. I always believed in my ability and what I could do. It’s not like I haven’t been in these positions before. It’s not like I haven’t been . . . a 1 Dalton Risner Jersey ,000-yard back in this league, a Pro Bowl back in this league. I’ve always found a way to hold my own no matter what. I’d describe it like that.”We’ll describe it like this: It’s great to see guys who have become overlooked get chances, and to make the most of them. Anderson is, and he’ll get a chance to do it again next Sunday. After just a four week turnaround from the previous matchup between the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs, I asked Pete Sweeney from Arrowhead Pride about the current conditions in Kansas City and what to look for this Sunday.1. No Womens Dwayne Haskins Jersey , Washington players weren’t happy about running back Adrian Peterson being inactive for Sunday’s season-opening loss at Philadelphia.“Any time you’ve got a Hall of Fame guy that doesn’t dress, man, it’s a slap in the face,” in D.C. on Monday. “And obviously, we’ve gotta figure out what the reason is. And it’s my job as one of the older guys on the offensive line to speak up and say, ‘Hey, we need him.’ Obviously, you don’t put a Hall of Fame guy like that on the sideline. When he’s healthy, as well.”Washington could have used him on Sunday Dwayne Haskins Jersey White , especially when trying to hold a 17-0 lead. The team rushed for 28 yards on 13 carries, averaging only 2.2 yards per carry.“I think he brings a lot to the game,” Moses said regarding Peterson. “I think he brings a lot to our team. But to have that guy just standing on the sideline is just — it doesn’t sit well to guys on the team or the NFL. So I think that’s something we need to correct, man, because he’s a hell of a football player.”Yes he is. And if Washington isn’t going to play him, they need to do what the Saints did two years ago and trade him to someone who will. Washington has Derrius Guice, Adrian Peterson and Chris Thompson at running back. They also have Samaje Perine, a fourth-round pick in 2017, who became forgotten last season when he played only five games.Washington coach Jay Gruden has not forgotten Perine Dwayne Haskins Jersey , though.“The guy I want to see, who everyone thinks is in my doghouse, is Samaje,” Gruden said, via the team website. “Samaje has not gotten the opportunities, I’m upset about that; that’s my fault. But I have not given up on Samaje. He’s young; he’s strong; he’s physical. And I need to see him take that next step, and I have to give him that opportunity to do that, and it’s going to be hard with Guice and AP in there to get him the ball. That’ll be a tough dynamic, but I have to get that done.”Perine had eight carries for 32 yards and three catches for 5 yards in 2018 a year after gaining 785 yards from scrimmage on 197 touches.“Competition is competition you know?” Perine said. “If you don’t like competition Wes Martin Jersey , if you don’t grind with the competition, then I hate to tell you, but it’s probably the wrong business for you. At the end of the day, you know the coaches are going to do what they want to do, but you know I’m going to put my best foot forward, just like they’re going to put their best foot forward, and you know whatever happens after that happens, but I’m sure we are all going to compete.”

JuJu Smith-Schuster wants to get something straight. That 4.52-second 40-yard dash the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver ran at the combine in the spring of 2017? It was a blessing James Conner Jersey , even if it didn’t feel like it at the time.A fraction faster and Smith-Schuster knows he likely goes higher than the 62nd overall pick in the draft and the chance to catch passes from Ben Roethlisberger and learn alongside Antonio Brown on a team with perennial and legitimate Super Bowl aspirations never materializes. So if Smith-Schuster had to wear the label of being “slow” for a few weeks, so be it.“That was the biggest thing for me coming out of college like ‘He doesn’t have breakaway speed, he doesn’t have breakaway speed,'” Smith-Schuster said Thursday. “But like C’mon. You’ve seen what I’ve been doing.”It’s kind of hard to miss. The 22-year-old leads the Steelers (7-3-1) in receptions (77) and yards receiving (1,055) heading into Sunday’s visit from the Los Angeles Chargers (8-3), including a 97-yard catch-and-run for a score last week against Denver, tying his own record for the longest grab in franchise history set last year against Detroit.Smith-Schuster ran underneath a rainbow from Roethlisberger, pulled away from Chris Harris Jr. and stiff-armed Darian Stewart to the ground with one thought running through his mind.“Every time I break away with those (long) touchdowns I always say . I’m not going to say the word, but I always say ‘Combine, what? What was the combine for?'” Smith-Schuster said.Apparently, not much.Though Smith-Schuster’s enthusiastic and decidedly physical approach to blocking — one head coach Mike Tomlin likened to former Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward — initially earned him the respect of his teammates as a rookie, he’s spent most of his second season becoming more than just a complement to Brown but a legitimate and dependable big-time threat in his own right. When the Steelers were desperately trying to rally from a 16-point deficit in Jacksonville two weeks ago, Smith-Schuster’s leaping 35-yard grab down the sideline on Pittsburgh’s final drive helped set up the game-winning touchdown. It was the same against the Broncos. Roethlisberger hit Smith-Schuster for a pair of 19-yard gains on the Steelers’ last possession and on first-and-goal at the Denver 3, Roethlisberger didn’t look to Brown but to Smith-Schuster. The pass to the corner of the end zone was too long https://www.thesteelerslockerroom.com/authe...-edmunds-jersey , and two plays later Roethlisberger was intercepted in the end zone while trying to thread a pass to Brown. After the 24-17 loss the quarterback admitted he wished he’d looked for Smith-Schuster on every snap and chastised Brown for running the wrong route, suggesting the “WiFi” connection — Brown’s description for his relationship with Roethlisberger — between one of the most productive quarterback/receiver combinations in NFL history is on the fritz.Smith-Schuster understands it lends itself to an easy narrative that the torch is in the process of being passed. He insists that’s hardly the case. It’s Brown, not Smith-Schuster, frequently drawing double teams. It’s Brown, not Smith-Schuster, who remains Roethlisberger’s favorite target. And it’s Brown — who is co-starring with Smith-Schuster in a series of Pizza Hut commercials — who is on a potentially Hall of Fame career path.“It’s hard, you know?” Smith-Schuster said. “But (Brown) still makes his plays and he still has the explosive plays that he’s making. And for me to be a young guy, just like me and James (Washington) and some of the other guys … we are able to eat off his plate because of what he’s done in the past.”And in the present. The 30-year-old Brown is on pace to extend his NFL-record streak of consecutive seasons with at least 100 receptions to six even with the increased attention from opposing defenses. While Smith-Schuster allows he plays a position known for producing divas, he has no plans on becoming one creating any sort of “me or him” scenario with Brown.“If you are asking if there’s a problem between me and AB or any of the other guys, that’s not happening,” Smith-Schuster said. “Obviously we are trying to strive for one goal.”The only goal by which every season in Pittsburgh is measured. The Steelers lead the AFC North heading into December and are on track for a fifth straight playoff berth. Yet Pittsburgh hasn’t reached the Super Bowl since 2010 and while Smith-Schuster is all for expanding his “global brand” — look no further than his rapidly rising endorsement deals or his forever busy Instagram page for proof — he knows all the yards, all the touchdowns and GIF-able celebrations that ensue won’t amount to much if the Steelers don’t reach the Super Bowl.“All of this doesn’t matter if you don’t win it all,” he said.Something Pittsburgh can do if Brown and Smith-Schuster continue to develop into arguably the best wide receiver combination in the league. They’re getting close if they’re not already there, and they know it.“When it comes to game day Womens Terrell Edmunds Jersey , it’s all we talk about,” Smith-Schuster said. “(We say) ‘It’s GOAT time. It’s time the GOAT comes alive.’ You make your plays, on both sides. And we’ve seen it work.”Practice Facility for Organized Team Activities." />Skip to main contentclockmenumore-arrownoyesHorizontal - WhiteBehind the Steel Curtaina Pittsburgh Steelers communityLog In or Sign UpLog InSign UpFanpostsFanshotsSectionsSteelersOddsShopAboutMastheadCommunity GuidelinesStubHubMoreAll 322 blogs on Horizontal - WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Latest NewsSteelers Film Room2018 NFL Draft AnalysisLatest NewsFiled under:Latest NewsSteelers OTA Recap, Day 3: Terrell Edmunds talks about how difficult defense will be with new PI rulesNew,5commentsTime to check in on what went down at the UPMC Practice Facility for Organized Team Activities.EDTShareTweetShareShareSteelers OTA Recap, Day 3: Terrell Edmunds talks about how difficult defense will be with new PI rulesPhilip G. Pavely-USA TODAY SportsAs the Pittsburgh Steelers wrap up their first week of Organized Team Activities (OTAs) at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, one thing which hasn’t been discussed much are the new rule changes in the NFL. While the rules of pass interference haven’t changed, the fact the play is considered reviewable is certainly new.Defensive players have already been figuratively handcuffed by the rules not allowing a defender to even touch an offensive player while they are attempting to catch the football. Now, teams, and officials, will be pouring over replay footage hoping to catch a hand on the back, a slight pull on the jersey or even the grazing of a shoulder pad. It really does make playing defense an almost impossible task. And that is exactly what Terrell Edmunds was talking about after practice on Thursday to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. He labeled it as ‘tough’, stating you have to rely more on other aspects of your game, footwork Terrell Edmunds Jersey White , etc. to help you get by without a ridiculous number of penalties.Check out the video below:Do-it-all Sutton SmithSutton Smith has been labeled as undersized for a pass rusher, but you might not know the Steelers actually have been giving him reps on the offensive side of the football too. He lined up a full back for a short time Thursday, and talked about how he is willing to do whatever it takes to make the team. Wise words from a rookie.Ben Roethlisberger still hereRoethlisberger doesn’t practice much anymore. Not during the season, and certainly not in OTAs. But even though he wasn’t on the field during live offense vs. defense sessions, doesn’t mean he wasn’t present and still helping. James Washington spoke with Mark Kaboly of The Athletic on what it meant to see Roethlisberger there, even though he wasn’t taking any live reps.Number geeks take noteFor those of you out there who love keeping up with jersey numbers, there have already been some changes. If you are looking to buy any rookie jersey, wait until the season starts to do so, unless it is Devin Bush’s jersey, his number won’t be changing. Anymore, every season a player might change their number. Just a few years ago Sean Davis, Mike Hilton and Stevan Ridley all changed numbers before the season since numbers were vacated by players leaving.VIDEOS/PHOTOS

Yeah, he did that. The first of the three was a strip sack that was returned for a touchdown. Then on the first two plays of the next drive, he gave up two more sacks. As unprecedented as that was, he may outdone himself in this one.Facing backups, Parker had possibly the worst series I’ve ever seen by an offensive lineman. And that’s saying something considering that Ravens debacle. I can’t describe this series by Parks and do it justice, so I will show you. That was one series in the second quarter. It lasted six plays and these were four of them. The next series, he was flagged for illegal use of hands that called back a 7-yard reception by Keon Hatcher that turned what would have been a third and short in field goal range into a third and 20 and a punt.He looks like he is a fan who won a contest and was pulled out of the stands and thrown into a jersey. Those snaps were all at left tackle. He wasn’t as abysmal at right tackle, but he wasn’t great either. To begin the fourth quarter, he gave up a pressure on third down that led to a sack on Nathan Peterman. He is battling for the reserve swing tackle job. Being horrendous on one side and bad on the other isn’t going to win anything.Mike GlennonIt’s a shame, really, because Glennon looked quite good early on. He led them on a touchdown drive to begin the game. One of his completions went for 38 yards up the sideline to JJ Nelson. His second drive didn’t score, but he seems to be doing well taking care of the football and making good decisions. As is often the case, however, one bad decision can cancel all those out.To begin the second quarter, he threw an easy interception to Kevin Peterson over the middle. If not for a penalty on the return Womens Antonio Brown Jersey , the Rams would have been in scoring position. The next drive, he was feeling it. He found Ryan Grant for a nice 18-yard grab. Then he found Keon Hatcher on a back-shoulder throw for 27 yards. He followed that up with a pump fake that freezed the defender and opened Marcell Ateman up for a 19-yard catch to the 12-yard-line. It ended up being all for naught, however, when he made a bad decision and a bad throw under pressure and was intercepted again.Even with 200 yards passing in the first half, those two picks doomed his day.Nevin LawsonOnce Blake Bortles left the game, the Rams had some pretty dreadful quarterback play. And still Lawson managed to twice get flagged for pass interference. He was also flagged for holding on a punt return. His first pass interference put the Rams in field goal range and set them up for their only points of the game. Lawson is supposed to be the team’s dime corner. But that job is far from certain. And, honestly, neither is his roster spot, especially if he can’t clean up the penalties.James ButlerThere was a pretty sizable drop in talent when Washington left the game. Butler couldn’t seem to get out of the blocks. At the half, he had 5 yards on 4 carries and he finished the game with 29 yards on 11 carries. It wasn’t until his 7th carry of the game that he picked up more than two yards.Washington should feel pretty comfortable no back in this team is going to usurp his job. Chris Warren III might have done it if he could have kept his weight down. But Washington main worry now would probably come from someone not on the team.Dallin LeavittWe didn’t see anything from Leavitt until the end of this game and then he had mishap after mishap. First he was flagged for a facemask on the Raiders’ punt return. Then on defense, he missed a tackle on third and two that resulted in a six-yard run and gave up a 20-yard catch on third and six.Lester Cotton SrCotton also didn’t end this game well. To begin the fourth quarter, on third and 5, he didn’t switch quick enough on a stunt to give up a sack on Peterman. The next series, he was flagged for holding and the Raiders punted again.See the BallersFollow @LeviDamien Raiders NewsREPORT: Raiders TE Darren Waller wearing a sling for shoulder issueREPORT: Raiders TE Darren Waller wearing a sling for shoulder issueFive Top Non-Antonio Brown Oakland Raiders..." />Skip to main contentclockmenumore-arrownoyesSilver And Black Pride homepageHorizontal - WhiteSilver And Black Pridean Oakland Raiders communityFollow Silver And Black Pride online:Follow Silver And Black Pride on TwitterFollow Silver And Black Pride on FacebookLog in or sign upLog InSign UpSite searchSearchSearchSilver And Black Pride main menuFanpostsFanshotsRaidersOddsAboutMastheadCommunity GuidelinesStubHubMoreAll 321 blogs on Horizontal - WhiteFanposts Fanshots Raiders StoriesScheduleRosterStatsYahoo Raiders NewsYahoo Raiders Team PageYahoo Raiders ReportYahoo Raiders Depth ChartYahoo Raiders TransactionsYahoo Raiders PhotosOdds About Masthead Community Guidelines StubHub ✕Silver Mining 8/14: Report of TE Darren Waller wearing a shoulder sling New,27commentsPDTRaiders NewsREPORT: Raiders TE Darren Waller wearing a sling for shoulder issueREPORT: Raiders TE Darren Waller wearing a sling for shoulder issueFive Top Non-Antonio Brown Oakland Raiders Training Camp DevelopmentsLet’s take a look at five storylines that that are blooming in Napa and should impact the Raiders’ 2019 season as they look to make major improvements after going 4-12 in Jon Gruden’s first season back with the team.Hard Knocks recap: Raiders coach Jon Gruden and Antonio Brown's feet | SI.comEpisode two of the HBO documentary series focuses on Antonio Brown's shredded feet Antonio Brown Jersey White ,Peterman's battle for the backup QB position.Antonio Brown: Raiders WR seeks helmet loophole, asks for fans' helpAntonio Brown's agent said his client has located newer versions of the Raiders receiver's preferred helmet model and is working to get them cleared.Brown Reports To Raiders Camp; ‘I’ve Been Dealing With A Lot Of Adversity’ – CBS San FranciscoWherever Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown goes, he draws a crowd. I had Haskins ranked as my number one quarterback in this class, and up until a few weeks ago, I thought there was no way we’d actually have a chance to draft him without moving up into the top 10. To sit tight at number 15 and draft Haskins is truly a dream come true. Now, onto the player...As you can already see, I absolutely love this pick. Haskins is a big, strong, accurate pocket passer who has a cannon for an arm, and the football acumen to become a top signal caller in this league for years to come. Accuracy:Arm Strength:Intelligence:Being able to stay put at number 15, and select who I feel was the best quarterback in this draft, was a huge win for the Redskins. Haskins may need some time to come in, learn the system, and get up to speed with an NFL playbook, but with Case Keenum here, he’ll have the luxury of not being rushed into action too early. He’s still a young guy https://www.theredskinslockerroom.com/authe...-haskins-jersey , and his ceiling is extremely high, so if it takes a full season to become the starter, fans should not panic. But, if he comes in, picks up the playbook in a hurry, and earns the starting nod, I will not be at all surprised. Overall, I give this pick an A+! He averaged 26.2 yards per reception which was tied for second most in the NFL among players with at least five receptions. All the hard work he had put in during training camp had paid off. in 2018, Sims made the Redskins 53-man opening day roster. His spot on that roster however was very short-lived. On the opening kickoff of the Redskins first regular season game, Sims suffered a high ankle sprain that landed him on Injured Reserve. Despite returning to full health just over a month later, the rookie was not designated to return, and spent the rest of the season watching from the sideline as his position mates struggled through a disappointing season. Despite his potential, all the recent talk after the 2019 draft has been on new-comers Terry McLaurin and Kelvin Harmon. But what about Cam Sims?Sims was a heralded high school recruit out of Louisiana who committed to the rival Crimson Tide. He never really made much of an impact in Tuscaloosa however, catching just 41 career passes for 467 yards and two touchdowns while battling injuries. He was not invited to attend the 2018 NFL Combine, so he had to impress scouts at Alabama’s Pro Day - and impress them he did!In front of Redskins President Bruce Allen, and a contingent of team scouts Womens Dwayne Haskins Jersey , Sims measured in at 6’5” and 215 pounds. He then proceeded to run the 40 yard dash as low as 4.52 on some teams watches, while recording a vertical of 34 inches and a broad jump of 10’3”. It was his on-field work, however, that impressed scouts the most, as the sticky-handed receiver caught everything thrown his way, and looked fluid and under control in his routes.Although his Pro Day was not enough to get him drafted, the Redskins saw enough to sign him as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2018. Sims went on to have an excellent training camp, drawing rave reviews from head coach Jay Gruden and Doug Williams. Sims will be entering 2019 with a new group of receivers he’ll need to distinguish himself from. The team’s top receiver over the last few seasons, Jamison Crowder, left via free agency. The Redskins used a third and sixth round pick in the 2019 NFL draft on Ohio State’s Terry McLaurin and N.C. State’s Kelvin Harmon. The two are expected to compete with incumbents Josh Doctson and Paul Richardson for starting spots. But don’t count out Sims. The second year pro has the measurables, skill and attitude to steal a starting role as the team’s X receiver. If he can develop chemistry with new quarterback Dwayne Haskins, and make plays like this, it will be hard to keep him off the field. Sims is also an excellent blocker and willing special teams players. Josh Doctson does neither, so Sims may have to really distinguish himself in these areas yet again if he hopes to have an impact in 2019.The Redskins are likely to carry six wide receivers on the 2019 roster. Will Sims be one of them?

Taking a look at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ salary cap situation in 2020 with Antonio Brown off the books." Latest NewsWith Antonio Brown off the 2020 books Womens Jerome Bettis Jersey , how are the Steelers financially?New,103commentsTaking a look at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ salary cap situation in 2020 with Antonio Brown off the books.EDTThe trade of Antonio Brown was a necessity that had horrendous salary cap ramifications for 2019, but at least the Pittsburgh Steelers will be off the hook for his 2020 salary. Which meant cap room to go on an offseason spending spree in March 2020, right? Wrong. Pittsburgh sits on $1 million, smallest amount in the NFL by $4 million, in cap space right now. That is not even enough to pay the 10 or 11 man practice squad. The figure would not be enough to cover the 52 and 53 players who are not counted against the cap as of now. Do not forget that the team generally carries over around $3.5 million to help cover in season expenses that may pop up. Players may be cut or traded while contract restructures could be in the works. Cap relief could also happen if a player such as Bud Dupree signs a long-term contract. Such a move would just shift cap space that is spoken for in 2019 and is not included in 2020. Spotrac projects the Steelers are $3 million over the cap for 2020 while accounting for $10 million in NFL salary cap growth. Will Pittsburgh shove some restructured money into 2020? The scenario seems all too realistic. An educated guess of $2-4 million pushing the Steelers over the cap by $5-7 million. The 2020 draft class will need to be accounted for. Before the trades in the 2018 draft, Pittsburgh would have a cap hit of $2.7 million after displacement. And then again the team needs to account for the 52 and 53 players and practice squad which a high-end total of $3 million is seeable. A conservative number would put the Steelers $10 million over the cap in 2020. Ten million is child’s play for the Steelers to overcome but what will be tough is dealing with the team’s free agents. Nose tackle Javon Hargrave Jerome Bettis Jersey , safety Sean Davis, Bud Dupree, and Joe Haden are all starters staring down 2020 with no contract. Five other players were on the Steelers 53-man roster in 2018 will also become unrestricted free agents. The team has eight players eligible for the expensive restricted free agent tag. Of those, cornerback Mike Hilton and right tackle Matt Feiler will have to prove their worth in 2019 to be tagged or offered contracts. What will the status of injured linebacker Ryan Shazier be? One player under contract for 2020 who could demand a new deal, would be superstar in the making, JuJu Smith-Schuster. If he even sniffs the 2018 production this season, he would have a strong case to be an $18 million per year wideout and not make his paltry $1 million base salary in 2020. Fans rejoiced when the Steelers parted ways with the distraction formerly known as AB and rejoiced at the 2020 cap savings. The issue was James Conner Jersey , fans were looking at 2020 from a distance and not getting up close and personal. Also, they were not taking into account the massive contract that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would sign. (He has never taken a hometown discount or a cap friendly first year on his contracts.) What is your plan for the Steelers to squeeze cap space out before the start of the 2019 season? Who is in line for an extension, what will those extensions look like, and how are you going to pay for that in 2020? PITTSBURGH — Mason Rudolph guided a long first-half touchdown drive to perhaps nudge ahead of Josh Dobbs in the race to be the backup behind Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Kansas City Chiefs 17-7 on Saturday night.Rudolph finished 10 of 15 for 77 yards while Dobbs completed 6 of 11 for 95 yards with a red-zone interception on a night the Steelers (2-0) opted to keep several key starters on the sideline, from quarterback Roethlisberger to Pro Bowl offensive linemen David DeCastro and Maurkice Pouncey to rookie linebacker Devin Bush.Kansas City coach Andy Reid suggested Patrick Mahomes would play most of the first half. Not quite. The reigning NFL MVP — who directed a touchdown in his lone drive in Kansas City’s preseason opener last week — did little during two series of work following a thunderstorm that forced the opening kickoff to be pushed back nearly an hour.Mahomes completed just 2 of 5 passes for 11 yards, a far cry from his previous visit to Heinz Field, when he threw for six touchdowns in a Week 2 win last September that served as a harbinger of the season to come.Mahomes’ best play during his cameo may have been his decision to slide during an 8-yard scramble https://www.thesteelerslockerroom.com/authe...-edmunds-jersey , something he didn’t do a week ago when he lowered his shoulder against Cincinnati rather than step out of bounds.Chad Henne found Mecole Hardman for a 17-yard touchdown late in the first half for Kansas City (1-1), which managed a lone touchdown a week after putting up 38 against the Bengals. Hardman, a second-round pick, has two touchdowns in two weeks and his rapid emergence could give Reid another option to play with in what could be the NFL’s most potent offense. the night off. Rudolph, a third-round pick a year ago who is hoping to supplant Dobbs as the top backup, was given the start instead. Playing with a group that included Pro Bowl running back James Conner and star wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, Rudolph struggled early to gain some momentum. It wasn’t until Rudolph found himself playing with the reserves that he started to get going. He directed a 14-play Womens Terrell Edmunds Jersey , 89-yard drive in the second quarter, a series that ended with a 14-yard sprint to the end zone by Jaylen Samuels.Dobbs started off brilliantly, hitting Washington for a 40-yard gain. He couldn’t sustain the momentum, thanks in part to an interception in the end in which he overthrew Diontae Johnson. The ball sailed into the arms of Kansas City’s Charvarius Ward to cut short a scoring chance late in the first half.Johnson, a third-round pick, ended up scoring in the fourth quarter when he made a diving grab in the end zone on a heave from fourth-stringer Devlin Hodges.THIS BUD’S FOR YOU?Steelers outside linebacker Bud Dupree is entering the season with a significant amount of pressure after Pittsburgh opted to pick up his fifth-year option but have not approached him about signing a long-term deal. Dupree provided a spark, sacking Mahomes and Henne and knocking down a pass.HONORING DRAKEA difficult week that began with the sudden passing of wide receivers coach Darryl Drake at age 62 ended with the Steelers making sure Drake’s legacy won’t be forgotten.Coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Kevin Colbert and their wives attended Drake’s funeral in Gallatin Womens James Conner Jersey , Tennessee. The wide receivers took the field for warmups with shirts emblazoned with the phrase “Shut out the noise,” the credo Drake adopted for his group for the 2019 season.Dozens of Steelers knelt for a prayer shortly before kickoff and the team will wear “DD” stickers on their helmets this season and a moment of silence was held just before the national anthem.TRAINER’S ROOMThe Chiefs didn’t escape Heinz Field unscathed. Safety Tyrann Matthieu left with a shoulder injury. Wide receiver Deon Yelder went down with a knee injury and Marcus Kemp exited with a knee injury. Linebacker Breeland Speaks suffered a knee injury in the second half and did not return. Quarterback Chase Litton was taken out in the final seconds after taking a hard hit shortly after releasing a pass.UP NEXTChiefs: Host San Francisco next Saturday.Steelers: Expect to give Roethlisberger his only reps of the preseason next Sunday when they visit Tennessee.

Antonio Brown was traded from the Steelers to the Raiders in part because of his relationships with coaches and teammates in Pittsburgh. In Oakland https://www.raiderslockerroom.com/authentic...io-brown-jersey , his coach says he’s not going to concern himself with that.Raiders coach Jon Gruden said Brown and Derek Carr will build a relationship in time, and Gruden isn’t worried about it.“I’m not going to get into the relationship business,” Gruden said. “I think Brown is a great guy. I love having him here. Derek is a great guy. You can’t rush a relationship. r two months. It’s something that you’ve got to earn and you’ve got to really work and, and that’s why it’s important that we spend time together. I’m a little worn out with all the relationships and all the things that really don’t matter right now.”Brown declined to attend the start of Organized Team Activities in Oakland, which Gruden also said was not a problem. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The Oakland Raiders are in talks with the Giants about playing their home games next season at Oracle Park in San Francisco.A person with knowledge of the negotiations said Sunday night the two sides are in discussions, but no deal has been reached. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because nothing has been finalized.NBC Bay Area reported that an announcement of the Raiders’ plans to play in San Francisco will be made this week. The Raiders are looking for a home for 2019 after the city of Oakland sued the team and the NFL over the planned move to Las Vegas in 2020. The Raiders has no lease for 2019 and owner Mark Davis dropped out of negotiations with Oakland after the suit was filed in December. The Raiders were still considering Oakland Womens Derek Carr Jersey , as well as the possibility of sharing Levi’s Stadium with the San Francisco 49ers. A final decision is needed soon so the NFL can start making its 2019 schedule.“I think the hope of Mark is to continue to be in the Bay Area with the Raiders’ fans,” commissioner Roger Goodell said at a pre-Super Bowl news conference on Wednesday. The Raiders are still planning to practice at their facility in Alameda, making staying in the Bay Area the most logical choice.Davis has always been opposed to sharing the stadium with the 49ers and the legal wrangling with officials in Oakland have soured him on that option, leaving the Giants stadium in San Francisco as his possible preferred choice. But it doesn’t come without hurdles as the 49ers hold territorial rights to the city and the Raiders would need NFL approval to move there. The stadium would also need some modifications to be able to host NFL games and there would be scheduling issues to work out with the Giants, who have home games scheduled on two of first four Sundays of the upcoming NFL season. The stadium has been used for college football games in the past. There have been several bowl games played there and California played its 2011 games there when Memorial Stadium was being renovated.

March 13 Joe Flacco Jersey White , but Joe Flacco is expected to move from Baltimore to Denver once trades can be completed.According to multiple reports, the Ravens are expected to get a mid-round pick back from the Broncos as compensation for the quarterback they moved to the bench in favor of rookie Lamar Jackson. The Broncos currently have nine 2019 picks, including two fourth-round selections and two fifth-round selections.Flacco’s contract calls for him to make a salary of $18.5 million in 2019 and he’s signed through 2021 with a total cap liability of $63 million once you remove the $16 million in dead cap space the Ravens will take on in the deal. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Flacco is expected to rework his deal with the Broncos.Finding out the exact pick heading back to Baltimore is only one of the questions left open by this deal. There’s also the matter of what the Broncos will do with Case Keenum and how Flacco’s exit from the market affects other teams in the market for quarterback help this offseason, to name two things to watch over the next month.: Multiple reports indicate it will be one of the two fourth-round picks going to Baltimore. WASHINGTON (AP)players just because they’ve fallen out of playoff contention. Coach Jay Gruden said the team and training staff will evaluate injuries on a ”player-by-player basis.” Four players missed Washington’s game at Dallas on Thursday night along with 15 already on injured reserve and several others who were listed as questionable. A 38-14 loss to the Cowboys on Thursday night dropped the Redskins to 5-7 and crushed their slim playoff hopes. But that won’t change the approach to injuries. ”I think if they’re good enough to go Adrian Peterson Jersey , they need to go,” Gruden said on a conference call Friday. ”We obviously don’t want to hurt anybody’s future, if it’s a chance to injure themselves long term. But if it’s just a nagging ankle sprain or something like that where they just can play through it, then they’ll play through it. We’ve got to dress 46 guys out there, and we’ll dress the healthiest guys we can.” A couple of exceptions might be left tackle Trent Williams and tight end Jordan Reed, as each has missed time with significant injuries. Gruden said the team wants to get an idea of a timeline for Williams to return after the surgery he requires on his right knee. Williams has said he wants to play the final four games as quarterback Kirk Cousins’ primary pass protector regardless of the Redskins’ status. ”If he’s good enough to finish the season, he will finish out the season,” Gruden said. ”We need him, and Kirk needs him. We’ll go by what the doctors say and how Trent feels and make our decision with Trent.” A similar conversation will occur about Reed, who has missed five consecutive games with a strained right hamstring. The Redskins have been juggling offensive linemen for much of the season and will likely do so again when they visit the Los Angeles Chargers on Dec. 10. Injuries to center Chase Roullier, guard Brandon Scherff, right tackle Morgan Moses and others all over the roster could benefit from extra time off after three games in 12 days. Gruden hopes Roullier, Moses and defensive linemen Matt Ioannidis and Terrell McClain should benefit from the break. And they’re not the only ones. ”Get people out of the building for a couple days to refresh, refocus and get ready for the fourth quarter of the season,” Gruden said. ”Hopefully we will get some healthier guys, some refocused guys and finish this season strong.” Moses aggravated his ankle injuries against the Cowboys, and Gruden said receiver Maurice Harris is in the NFL’s concussion protocol. Washington’s linebacking corps is decimated without Will Compton and Mason Foster and with nagging injuries to Zach Brown and Martrell Spaight, something that has contributed to struggles on special teams as depth players have been pressed into bigger roles. One existing injury that bears watching is rookie defensive lineman Jonathan Allen’s left foot, which was surgically repaired in October. Allen, a first-round pick, did some light running Monday and is eligible to return to practice next week, but that may now not happen. ”He’s a guy that we may not rush back,” Gruden said. ”We may just want to get him fully healed before we even think about putting him out on the practice field.” — ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The Head Ball Coach is back, lighting up the scoreboard and selling the Alliance of American Football. And fans — at least those in Orlando, Florida, who showed up in the rain for Steve Spurrier’s debut in the new league Saturday night — are eager to buy.The 73-year-old coach returned to the sideline for the first time since abruptly walking away from the college game in 2015, bringing along an entertaining style of offense that didn’t disappoint an announced crowd of 20,191 for the AAF opener between the Orlando Apollos and Atlanta Legends. With a 52-man roster featuring 29 players from nine Florida colleges Joe Theismann Jersey , there’s a local feel to the Apollos for fans of the hometown team.It begins with Spurrier, who won the Heisman Trophy as a player at the University of Florida and later put together his best body of work as a coach at his alma mater, a mere 113 miles up the road in Gainesville. And, there was just enough razzle-dazzle and imaginative play-calling in the Apollos’ 40-6 victory over the Legends to remind the faithful, who can buy season tickets for as little as $75, of the good old days.“I think the fans had a good time,” said Spurrier, who improved to 6-0 in his first game with the six teams he coached. “They saw enough good plays, especially after the first quarter.”It was a long night for Atlanta, which took the field barely a month after the sudden departure of coach Brad Childress and just days after the team decided ex-NFL quarterback Michael Vick would no longer hold the title of Legends offensive coordinator.“We’re disappointed,” Legends coach Kevin Coyle said.“I think Atlanta’s a pretty good team. Time will tell if they are,” Spurrier said. “Time will tell if we’re any good. It’s just one game.”In the league’s other opener Saturday night, San Antonio topped San Diego 15-6.On Sunday, Memphis is at Birmingham, and Salt Lake at Arizona. Two hours before game-time between Orlando and Atlanta, traffic flowed freely and there were few visible signs that the league was about to make its debut at Spectrum Stadium on the campus of UCF, where the Apollos have chosen to play in a more intimate setting than the larger Citrus Bowl near downtown Orlando. In stark contrast to the thousands who tailgate in a festive atmosphere before UCF games in the fall, only a smattering of fans mingled in a plaza near the 44,000-seat stadium on a cloudy and windy evening.Rain sent some early arrivals scurrying for cover in concession areas beneath the stands and intermittent showers fell most of the night, contributing to some slipping and sliding and occasional sloppy play. The weather even forced Spurrier to don a baseball cap instead of his signature visor.“I think the rain deterred the crowd a little bit,” the coach said. “But 20,000 is pretty good.”This isn’t the first time Spurrier has been part of a new league. His first head coaching job was a three-year stint in the mid-1980s with the USFL’s Tampa Bay Bandits. He led Florida to a national championship in 1996, left the Gators five years later to coach the Washington Redskins for two seasons, then ended a long college career when he walked away from a decade-long stay at South Carolina six games into the 2015 season. He smiled when he was asked about being unbeaten in his first game with six different teams.“Even won with the Redskins,” he said, laughing. “That’s not easy to do.”FOX Fantasy AutoForm a Racing Team, Compete for PrizesPlay Now!

When you think about it, it has been a long time since there has even been a battle to be had along the formidable front that protects Ben Roethlisberger and opens holes for James Conner. But with the trade of Marcus Gilbert to the Arizona Cardinals for a 6th round draft pick, there is now a starting position up for grabs. Who will win it? It is between Matt Feiler, Chukwuma Okorafor and Jerald Hawkins.Feiler might be the leader in the clubhouse, considering he started in Gilbert’s stead last season, but Okorafor has come into the Steelers’ Organized Team Activities (OTAs) with a new look. In other words, he has lost some weight.“I’m down a little bit,” Okorafor told Chris Adamski of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, “so I feel a little bit more fast.”According to Adamski Diontae Johnson Pittsburgh Steelers Jersey , Okorafor didn’t divulge how much weight he lost, but wanted to drop around 10-15 pounds before the start of the season. Why did he lose weight?“Just wanted to get a little quicker,” Okorafor said.Feiler enters this competition with 10 starts under his belt, and Okorafor has one start under his belt from 2018. While the true competition won’t begin until training camp in late July, Okorafor has been practicing at both left and right tackle throughout OTAs. While Okorafor doesn’t have as much starting experience as Feiler, he does have experience as an extra tight end in heavy packages to help as a run blocker. Who wins this battle is anyone’s guess, but Okorafor seems determined to put his best foot forward in the competition. The underlying theme throughout this competition will be the ultimate quality of the competition. Feiler proved to be a solid backup, but will he keep that standard as a starter? Okorafor doesn’t have much experience, is he ready for the huge step as a starting right tackle? Jerald Hawkins is the wild card in this whole scenario Diontae Johnson Jersey 2019 , and no one outside of the organization can really say how he will play after missing the entire 2018 season with a torn quadriceps. This camp battle will definitely be one to keep an eye on. NEW YORK (AP) — For the past 2½ months, one thing has been clear in the NFL: Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints are hard to stop. The Saints’ winning streak reached 10 games with their 31-17 victory over Atlanta on Thanksgiving night. The Saints will play their second consecutive Thursday night game when they open Week 13 by facing the Dallas Cowboys. And it’s not the least bit surprising that the surging Saints kept the No. 1 spot in the latest AP Pro32 poll. They received all 12 first-place votes and 384 points in balloting Tuesday by media members who regularly cover the NFL.“Right here, right now, Drew Brees is this year’s MVP in a very crowded field of contenders,” Newsday’s Bob Glauber said. “At almost 40 years old, he’s playing perhaps his best football, with 29 touchdown passes and just two interceptions.”The league’s other 10-1 team, the Los Angeles Rams, stayed at No. 2 after its bye week. And the Kansas City Chiefs Diontae Johnson Jersey Youth , who also were on a bye last week, remained No. 3.Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are still No. 4 after disposing of the New York Jets 27-13.The only change in the top five was the Chicago Bears, who inched up a spot to No. 5 after topping the Lions 23-16 on Thanksgiving as backup quarterback Chase Daniel threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns in place of the injured Mitchell Trubisky. The Los Angeles Chargers jumped two places to No. 6 after dominating Arizona 45-10 as Philip Rivers tied the NFL mark for consecutive completions at 25 and the broke record for the most to start a game. And the Houston Texans, who have won eight in a row after a 0-3 start, remained No. 7 after topping the Tennessee Titans 34-17 on Monday night.“The surging Texans honored late owner Bob McNair with an eighth consecutive victory behind a powerful ground game and the usual stingy defense,” said Ira Kaufman of Fox 13 in Tampa, Florida. The Pittsburgh Steelers dropped three spots to No. 8 after their 24-17 loss at Denver.“Big Ben blows the game in Denver,” Fox Sports’ John Czarnecki said of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who threw for 462 yards but had two interceptions and now has 12 for the season. They will look to rebound Sunday night when they host the Chargers Justin Layne Pittsburgh Steelers Jersey , who are expected to be without running back Melvin Gordon, who sprained the medial collateral ligament in his right knee during the rout of the Cardinals. The Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks, who are both in contention for wild-card spots in the NFC, each moved up a spot to Nos. 9 and 10.Among the teams making the biggest drop was the Cincinnati Bengals, who plummeted five spots to No. 24. They have lost five of six after a 4-1 start and will finish the season without quarterback Andy Dalton, who went on injured reserve with a thumb injury to his throwing hand.“The record may not show it, but this could very well be the NFL’s worst team by year’s end,” said Alex Marvez of Sirius XM.

But what does it mean for 2019?Raiders vs. Rams: 4 Winners, 4 Losers This game was a tough one to stomach. After leading 13-10 at the half, the Raiders completely laid an egg in the second half to lose 33-13. It’s clear the Rams are the class of the league and nobody should have expected a win, but to see them collapse the way they did was disheartening. There’s plenty of blame to go around, but let’s give some credit first. WINNERS1) Rams offensive lineOne of the key secrets to the Rams’ success is that they quietly have one of the best offensive lines in football. Tonight they were able to open up just enough holes in the run game that Todd Gurley could keep the Raiders defense off balance, and they gave Jared Goff all day to throw. The Raiders had no pass rush whatsoever, and only one sack. Would Khalil Mack have helped? Personally, I doubt it. We already saw Andrew Whitworth shut him down a few years ago with the Bengals, and tonight wouldn’t have gone any differently. This unit is on another level.2) Jared CookCook had a spectacular game as the Raiders’ only real weapon in the passing game. He caught nine passes for 180 yards which is pretty close to the Raiders’ all time record for receiving yards in a single game by a tight end. The Rams had no answer for Cook tonight and he looks to be a major part of the offense moving forward.3) Brandin CooksWhy on Earth did the Patriots let this guy go? For that matter, why did the Saints? Cooks was absolutely uncoverable tonight, displaying speed and hands and the ability to exploit zone coverage. Sammy Watkins was inconsistent but this guy could be the one who makes the Rams even more explosive, and that’s a scary thought.4) Rams coaching staffAfter being thoroughly outcoached by Jon Gruden and company in the first half Willie Brown Jersey , Sean McVay and Wade Phillips made the necessary halftime adjustments to fight their way back. Phillips’ defense showed its teeth and even though they only sacked Derek Carr once, the constant pressure was enough to stall multiple Raiders drives. Phillips is one of the best defensive coordinators of all time and he showed it tonight.LOSERS1) Derek CarrHoly Toledo, that was a bad performance. Carr threw for 303 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions, one of which was a pick-six to Marcus Peters. Carr’s second pick was a completely inexcusable throw which was lobbed into the sky and landed right in the waiting hands of Rams LB Cory Littleton. The first was Carr trying one too many times to hit Jared Cook, and underthrowing the ball by a full two yards in the end zone. Each throw was awful in its own way. Carr’s total reluctance to throw deep might have been part of the game plan, but it looked like he was just rattled. I feel like Gruden’s offensive game plan could have succeeded if Carr had made the correct throws and not made critical errors. Carr has always had his detractors, and this game will simply add more fuel to that fire. Carr is getting paid like a franchise quarterback, but he hasn’t looked like one since the Chiefs game last October. The team is on his shoulders now, it goes as he goes. If he is going to play like this, the team will go nowhere but the top of the draft again.2) Raiders defensive lineChalk this one up as a learning experience for this very young positional group. Tank Carradine was inactive for some reason, leaving Fadol Brown and Shilique Calhoun backing up Frostee Rucker at defensive end opposite Bruce Irvin. While the Raiders’ rookie trio of PJ Hall, Maurice Hurst and Arden Key are talented, they are still rookies and were treated as such today. The Rams’ offensive line is full of veteran studs. The youngsters did nothing today, but they’ll be chomping at the bit to feast on Denver’s line next week.3) Raiders safetiesMarcus Gilchrist and Reggie Nelson started at safety for Oakland tonight, and neither were particularly good. Nelson’s coverage strategy of ‘diving and grabbing at air’ was especially ineffective, and it’s only due to the fact that Jared Goff constantly overshot his deep passes that the secondary didn’t look worse. Rashaan Melvin and Gareon Conley played just fine, and Conley remains a stud when healthy, but where is Karl Joseph, and how is he not better than these two?4) Matt StaffordIf you think Derek Carr had a bad day, go look at Matt Stafford’s line. If there’s two teams that live and die with their quarterback more than the Raiders, it’s the Packers and Lions. The Packers game was an example of a quarterback dragging his team to victory, while the Lions game was an example of a quarterback dragging his team to the bottom of the ocean. Stafford went 24/46 for 286 yards, a touchdown and FOUR picks, including one that was returned for a touchdown by the Jets of all teams. Stafford was outshined by rookie Sam Darnold, who led his team to the 48-17 win and threw two touchdowns after his first pass as a pro was picked and returned for a TD as well.

The Broncos training camp schedule has the team starting practice at 2:00 p.m. Mile High time today and ending at 4:45 p.m.The players had a day off on Tuesday, Head Coach Vic Fangio and his staff did not. “We’ll work a normal day tomorrow,” Fangio said on Monday. “We’ll work the rest of today obviously. We still have meetings with the players this afternoon and we’ll work a normal day tomorrow, come in early and work up until dinner.”One thing people have noticed from Broncos training camp so far is that Fangio likes to hold a longer practice than the previous regime. He was asked about that on Monday also and his answer was interesting. “I just think guys have to practice,” Fangio said. “The only way you get better is to practice and get more reps. One thing you all need to keep in mind is there are 90 guys out there. Although we’re out there a long time, there’s nobody getting more than maybe a third of the reps, so individually it’s not that long other than being out there.”Stay tuned to Mile High Report as Broncos camp continues.Day 6 Recap Past MHR polls have shown that Flacco was literally the last QB fans wanted. Since it’s now a reality, what can he do to truly become a Bronco?MSTShareTweetShareShareJoe Flacco has a long road to winning our heartsAnother week, another bombshell report regarding the Denver Broncos. Joe Flacco will be the next Broncos’ QB as Denver traded a fourth-round pick in the 2019 draft to bring in the veteran - Super Bowl MVP Quarterback. I imagine that like for most fans, it’s been an emotional journey over the last six days. My initial reaction was shock and disgust. I had just tweeted that the one thing I have learned in my three months of podcasting and writing for Mile High Report, is that Broncos fans hate Joe Flacco. Minutes later it was reported that the Broncos had traded for the aforementioned QB. In previous posts, I’ve attached polls that asked fans who they would most like to see as the 2019 QB in Denver. The options always included Keenum, Flacco, a rookie and often someone else like Teddy Bridgewater or Nick Foles. Though the results were wildly varying Justin Hollins Denver Broncos Jersey , one things was not - Joe Flacco always received the lowest percentage of votes. When I say lowest, I don’t mean by a few percentage points. I mean he was 20 or 30 percent behind the second-to-last vote-getter every single time. It got to such an extreme that I posted a poll on Twitter asking Broncos Country if it would rather Joe Flacco, Uncle Rico or Tim Tebow as the next Denver QB. Flacco lost. Does this mean that he won’t be an upgrade over Case Keenum? No, as has been covered extensively and fantastically by the MHR staff, he absolutely should be an upgrade over Keenum. But it’s like saying a Chicken Pox is a vast deal better than Smallpox. It’s true, but they both are not something that we should really desire to experience. As my emotions cooled, however, I started to lean toward feeling OK with the idea. The staff of MHR was hugely split on the topic but there seemed to at least be a consensus that it was a step up rather than down. He’s a former Super Bowl MVP, has 10 postseason road victories, big arm, tall pocket passer, etc. My feelings were generally optimistic from Thursday until Sunday. But as time progressed and the idea had even more time to wiggle it’s way into the depths of my conscious and subconscious mind, I began to again experience the “yuck” feelings. Hadn’t Vic Fangio just said that this team wasn’t going to put Band-Aids鈩?over big problems? They were going to do it the right way? Isn’t this a team that has maybe one returning player on the O-line and that’s the wildly unreliable Garrett Bolles? The team needs at least one ILB, one CB, one TE, one WR Justin Hollins Denver Broncos Jersey , two edge rushers and one DT to even begin to rebuild. Now Elway goes and gets a “win now” QB, and if they are unable to trade Keenum, will end up paying around $25 million for one position that will be filled by a guy who hasn’t seen success in over five years. Yikes. I have zero doubt that this isn’t the last up or down of my emotional roller coaster regarding the situation of the team, and if the Broncos can trade Keenum, bring in a top ILB, CB and solid O-line either through draft or free-agency then I will be happy. If not, we are in for another few years of “meh” football and a team that will likely live around .500 and waste away seasons because Elway is not someone who “rebuilds.”Check out the podcast (linked above) for much more on the topic and a fantastic segment by the Skipper dude about the importance of heroism in sports. ENGLEWOOD Gardner Minshew II Jersey , Colo. (AP) —Broncos who also served stints as general manager for the Cleveland Browns and the Philadelphia Eagles, has died following a long illness, the Broncos said. He was 51.Heckert stepped away from the Broncos after last season after being diagnosed in recent years with amyloidosis, a rare disease that causes a buildup of amyloid proteins in the heart, kidney, liver and other organs. He died Sunday night.Heckert spent 27 years in the NFL Christian Wilkins Jersey , including the last five in the Broncos’ personnel department. He was the teams’ director of pro personnel from 2013-16 before becoming senior personnel adviser in 2017.“Tom was an integral part of our organization and we’re all incredibly saddened today,” general manager John Elway said in a statement. “With his many years of experience and time as a GM, Tom was a tremendous resource and a key member of our team. He was a very good evaluator. He had an eye for talent, and we always trusted his voice.”Before coming to Denver, Heckert was the general manager for the Browns (2010-12) and the Eagles (2006-09).“We are saddened to learn of Tom Heckert’s passing,” Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement. “Tom gave everything he had to this organization for nine seasons and played a major role in the construction and success of our team during that time. In addition to being a talented evaluator and respected voice, he was a mentor and friend to so many within our organization and around the league. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and worked with him and our hearts go out to his family during this difficult time.”The Eagles went to the playoffs seven times in Heckert’s nine seasons in Philadelphia Michael Deiter Jersey , winning five NFC East titles, making five appearances in the conference championship and reaching one Super Bowl.“Tom came to Philly in 2001 and made an instant impact on and off the field,” Eagles GM Howie Roseman said in a statement. “He hired great people and his legacy is seen throughout the league in high-ranking front office positions and how many people today are talking about him and telling Heckert stories.“He took the time to help all of us get better and learn more about how to evaluate and build teams. His record as a GM was outstanding. When he worked here everyone wanted to be around him and listen to his stories about his time in the league and his experiences around the game. He was one of the first people to congratulate us all when we won the Super Bowl. Thoughts and prayers are with his family, including his kids.”Heckert began his NFL career in 1991 as a scout with the Miami Dolphins, who promoted him to assistant director of pro personnel/college scout in 1999 and director of pro personnel in 2000. He was hired by the Eagles as their player personnel director in 2001 and was promoted to vice president of player personnel in 2003.His father, Tom Sr., worked for more than 20 years as an NFL player personnel executive before retiring in 2007.His time in Denver included three playoff trips Daniel Jones Jersey , two Super Bowl appearances and a win over Carolina in Super Bowl 50.“It’s easy to see why Tom was widely respected and had so many great relationships across the league,” Elway said. “I’ll always be grateful for how he helped me transition into this position. My prayers go out to Tom’s family, friends and everyone he worked with during his career.”Matt Russell, the Broncos’ director of player personnel, worked with Heckert in Philadelphia and Denver.“Tom was one of the best because he combined exceptional player evaluation skills with his incredible network of connections around the NFL,” Russell said. “Those relationships he formed are a testament to how well he treated everyone. Tom was a loyal friend and my heart goes out to his family.”The Browns also released a statement expressing the organization’s sympathy: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Tom Heckert and share our sincerest condolences with his family and friends, including the many lives he impacted with the Browns organization and throughout the entire NFL during his established career.” More than a year after he pleaded guilty to insider trading Dexter Lawrence Jersey , Seahawks linebacker Mychal Kendricks has still not been sentenced, and he won’t be sentenced any time soon.Kendricks’ sentencing, which has already been delayed for nine months, was delayed again and is now scheduled for November 21, according to multiple reports. The Browns released Kendricks last year after the insider trading charge, and the Seahawks signed him. He was suspended for eight games last season but was a starter in Seattle when available, and he started on Sunday as well. The continuing delays may allow him to finish the season before serving any prison time. The charge Kendricks pleaded guilty to carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison Deandre Baker Jersey , but he is reportedly expected to get much less than that because he has cooperated with the investigation into his co-defendant, Damilare Sonoiki.
